Beth Newell, a comedy writer and the creator of the Reductress website, waspreparing to go to the hospital to deliver her baby with her husband, Peter, and her doula, Silvie, when her water broke.
Even though theyquickly got into the car, they didnt make it five minutes down the road before, well, her daughter made her grand entrance in the car.
Fortunatelyher doula aided her in safely delivering the child while her husband called 911 for additional assistance.
And being a comedy writer, she decided to make the most of a slightly messy situation literally.
She sent out a tweet that’sgone massively viral, with more than 16,000 retweets and nearly 30,000 likes.
She said most of the online reactions have been positive, but it’s the Internet, so of course some people accused her of using Twitter to try to get a new car.
Of course, it was a joke, but did Honda ever respond?
They did send their well wishes, but no keys in the mail.
However, they did offer to pay for cleaning and seat replacement, which I’m sure is probably needed at this point.
As for the baby, she’sdoing fine.
Shes healthy and happy and hungry and clearly does what she wants when she wants to, Newell said.
And while there were suggestions to name her “Honda,” they went with something a little bit better Maeven.
Probably a pretty smart choice.
