Insane Moment A Man Runs Into A Burning House And Saves Another Man (Video)
In cell phone footage taken in Fresno, CA on Saturday morning, a house is completely engulfed in flames and bystanders are screaming that there is still a man inside.
Beth Lederach told the Fresno Bee that she began videotaping the crisis after driving by the fiery duplex and calling 911.
She told the local paper,
As I got out of the car, this woman came up with this baby and said, ‘My dad is in there! My dad is in there!’ I didn’t know what to do. I felt so helpless.
Then, at around a minute-and-a-half in, an unnamed man in a blue hat runs outside carrying the woman’s father, the last person trapped inside.
Lederach said the rescuer fearlessly and almost casually walked into the house before emerging a hero.
Firefighters arrived approximately three minutes after the rescue and about 30 of them had the fire dying down within around 20 minutes.
Fresno Fire Department spokesman Kris Townshend told the Bee that the firemen arrived later than desired because the nearest fire truck was responding to a medical call.
It’s a good thing Lederach called 911, he added, because the neighbors trying to put out the fire with their own hoses had not.
The rescued man could not escape on his own because he was hooked up to an oxygen tank for a respiratory condition.
Three people lived in the duplex, which is estimated to have absorbed $100,000 worth of damage.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but it is believed to have started in the home’s garage.
