Feminists smoke-bombed the premiere of feminist film ‘Suffragette’
Over 100 feminists from the group Sisters Uncut— reportedly angry at budget cuts to programs to help prevent domestic violence — staged a protest at the premiere of the feministfilm “Suffragette” in London yesterday.
A protest that included smoke bombs and a die-in on the red carpet:
The film, which stars Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan and Meryl Streep, chronicles the early days of of theBritish women’s suffrage movement.
And from what we’re seeing, they were totes cool with the disruption:
“Suffragette” opens in America October 21 … hopefully without the smoke bombs.
